Kiwi Alumni Korea started fresh in 2015. We're a group that brings together people who studied in New Zealand or who care about the friendship between Korea and New Zealand. We also work with businesses, organizations, and individuals who want to strengthen ties between the two countries and help them share what they have to offer.
We exist to build a community for anyone who went to school in New Zealand or who wants to support the Korea-New Zealand relationship. We partner with companies and organizations that share this goal and help them connect with opportunities in both countries.
What we do
We bring the New Zealand alumni community in Korea together throughout the year, with everything from formal receptions to relaxed picnics by the Han River.
Kiwi Alumni Night
Our flagship networking evening, held at the New Zealand Ambassador’s residence in Seoul. Alumni, partners and friends come together for food, wine and conversation.
Matariki Picnic
Each year we celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year, with a picnic at Banpo Hangang Park. Members, their families and friends are all welcome.
Mentoring and careers
Mentor nights and Seonbae Night connect students and early-career alumni with people who have built careers in Korea, for advice on jobs, study and life here.
Education
We take part in Education New Zealand’s education fairs and receptions in Seoul, sharing what it is really like to study in New Zealand with students and families thinking about it.
University alumni evenings
With universities such as the University of Auckland, we host evenings for their graduates in Korea, most recently a talk on 3D printing by Professor Olaf Diegel.
Community and culture
Waitangi Day hui and end-of-year parties with the Kiwi Chamber, painting classes, exhibition walkthroughs and more. See them all on our Upcoming Events page.
Who can join
Anyone who has studied in New Zealand, whether at school, university or a language school, and now lives in Korea, along with their friends, regardless of age, position or ethnicity.
